Summer always feels like a special time. Fewer events, fewer trade shows, and a slower pace for many. Some are on holiday, others are in planning mode…
So, what’s happening at 20/CENT Retail during this period? Should I keep up a frantic posting schedule? Well, as a human being, I’m also taking the opportunity to slow down a little, recharge the batteries… and reflect on the first half of the year while preparing for the next six months.
And how was this first semester for me? It’s been a packed schedule, running at full speed.
Over the past six months, I’ve been lucky enough to:
Speak or moderate at several conferences, including international ones
Visit inspiring trade shows and discover interesting retail locations
Record nearly forty podcast episodes in multiple languages, including two in a professional studio and one abroad (yes, nearly forty!)
Explore very inspiring stores where teams and staff reaffirmed one of my strongest convictions: the real action happens on the field
Watch the audience for my podcasts and articles continue to grow significantly, and organically
Not too bad, considering I’m running this solo. Well, almost solo, because I also had the chance to welcome an intern at 20/CENT Retail. A year ago, I wouldn’t have imagined that happening. But today, I’m convinced: there’s too much work for one person, not quite enough for two, but enough to create value together. Thank you to him for his valuable contribution!
And more importantly, other key goals were reached. I didn’t miss a single one of my kid’s hockey practices, and all my business trips were done without a car by bike, on foot, or via public transport. Small things to some, but personal achievements are just as important, if not more.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this first half of the year a great adventure.
This summer, things will be quieter on the content side (but don’t worry, it won’t be total radio silence). And I can already tell you, the second half of the year is shaping up to be a busy one!
