A few days before the opening of Tavola, one of Europe’s key events for food professionals, this podcast episode offers a preview of what visitors can expect in Kortrijk. From March 15 to 17, the show will bring together producers, retailers, buyers and experts around product innovation, consumer trends and new ways of creating value in the food sector.
In this episode, we look at the role Tavola plays in the food trade show landscape: an event renowned for the quality of its exhibitors and for its ability to highlight the trends shaping the future of food retail. It is also a unique meeting place where manufacturers, retailers and entrepreneurs come to find inspiration, develop partnerships and explore new business opportunities.
This episode is also an opportunity to introduce the Tavola Talks, a conference program designed to explore some of the key challenges facing the retail and food industries. On Monday, March 16, I will have the pleasure of moderating two discussions dedicated to value creation and the transformation of retail.
The first session, “Food Trends – Where Value is Really Created” (11:45 – 12:15), will bring together Ann Guillemyn (Colruyt) and Regine Van Tomme (Carrefour) to discuss where and how value is created today in the food chain, between product innovation, evolving consumer expectations and retail strategies.
The second conference, “Winkelpunt Transformatie – Proximity, Digital and New Formats” (13:30 – 14:00), will focus on the evolution of the point of sale with Elisa Servais, Retail Design Expert, and Jan Pollier (Carrefour). Together, we will explore new store formats, the role of digital and the growing importance of proximity retail.
Both conferences will be simultaneously translated from Dutch into English.
